  • How to set thermal printer darkness ? How to set thermal printer darkness ? Apr 15, 2024
Setting the darkness level of a Thermal Printer depends on the specific model and brand you are using. However, I can provide you with a general guideline on how to adjust the darkness setting for most thermal printers. Here are the steps:   1. Determine the model and manufacturer of your thermal printer. You can usually find this information on the printer itself or in the user manual.   2. Locate the control panel or menu settings on the printer. This could be a physical control panel with buttons or a digital interface.   3. Access the printer settings menu. This may require pressing a specific button or navigating through the options using arrow keys or a touchscreen, depending on the printer model.   4. Look for an option related to the darkness or contrast setting. It could be labeled as "Density," "Darkness," "Contrast," or something similar. Different printers may use different terminology.   5. Adjust the darkness level. Depending on the printer, you may have a numerical scale or a series of predefined levels to choose from. Increase or decrease the darkness level according to your preference. Some printers may have a sample printout to help you evaluate the darkness level before confirming the setting.   6. Test the print quality. After adjusting the darkness level, print a test page or a sample document to check the output. If the print is too light or too dark, repeat the process and fine-tune the darkness setting until you achieve the desired print quality.   7. Save the changes. Once you are satisfied with the darkness level, navigate to the menu option that allows you to save the settings. Confirm and exit the printer settings menu.   Remember that the exact steps and terminology may vary depending on your specific thermal printer model. It's always recommended to consult the printer's user manual for detailed instructions on adjusting the darkness setting.     Here recommend Sunson Thermal Printer which is easy to set the darkness, just need to connect PC with printer via USB cable, then use our setting tool which sent to you once you bought the printer, you will find the "darkness setting" in it. Very easy and convenient to set. There are several levels to choose. For more info about thermal printer, please visit:  Sunson POS www.sunsoniot.com
  • What's thermal printer working principle ? What's thermal printer working principle ? Apr 18, 2024
Thermal printers are a type of printer that use heat to produce an image on paper. The working principle of a thermal printer can be summarized as follows:     1. Thermal Paper: Thermal printers use special thermal paper coated with a layer of heat-sensitive chemicals. This paper is typically white or light-colored and turns black when heat is applied.   2. Thermal Print Head: The key component of a thermal printer is the thermal print head. It contains a series of tiny heating elements or resistors that can be individually controlled. The thermal print head is positioned in close proximity to the thermal paper.   3. Printing Process: To print an image or text, the thermal printer receives data from a computer or other input source. The data is then converted into electrical signals that control the heating elements in the print head.   4. Heat Transfer: When a heating element in the print head receives an electrical signal, it rapidly heats up. The heat is selectively applied to the thermal paper in the areas corresponding to the desired image or text. The heat-sensitive chemicals on the paper react to the heat and change color, producing the desired marks.   5. Image Formation: By selectively activating different heating elements in the print head, the printer can create a pattern of heated and non-heated areas on the thermal paper. This pattern forms the image or text that needs to be printed.   6. Advancement of Paper: As the printing process proceeds, the thermal paper is fed through the printer. The printed portion of the paper moves out of the print head's range, making way for the next section to be printed.   7. Cooling: After heat is applied to the thermal paper, the print head releases the heat, and the thermal paper cools down. The image or text remains on the paper in its black form.   Thermal printers are widely used in various applications such as receipts, labels, tickets, and barcode printing due to their reliability, speed, and low maintenance requirements.
